Language requirements

Applicants who have not undertaken their undergraduate degree in English are required to provide evidence of:

• an IELTS overall band score of 6.5 together with a score of at least 6.0 in all components

or

• a TOEFL score of 570 (paper based test), 230 (computer based test) or better, and a test of written English (TWE) score of 4.5.

Wherever possible IELTS test centres should be directed to send results directly to ANU International Office at the time of the test.

As well as meeting the University's English language conditions, you will be required to comply with the Australian Government English Proficiency requirements for the issue of a student visa. these may vary depending on your country of citizenship. Please note that only IELTS will be accepted from some countries. You should check with the nearest Australian visa office for details.
